We had the chance to speak up the most decorated alpine skier in history, Mikaela Shiffrin, during her visit to the PwC Tremblant World Cup in December 2023, following her 2 podiums during the weekend. Find out more about this athlete and Ikon Pass ambassador through these few questions. We cannot wait to see her race again on December 7 and 8 on the Flying Mile course!

1

Is it your first time in Quebec and in Mont-Tremblant?

This is my 3rd time in Quebec, and my first time in Tremblant. And it’s been quite a weekend, pretty exciting.
2

What do you like most about Tremblant?

I think it’s a very unique place, visually it’s so beautiful with the lake down. When you’re standing in the starting gate, you can kind of see this whole view of the crowd, the town and the lake in the background. It’s quite stunning.
3

What do you like most about your role as an Ikon Pass ambassador and alpine skiing athlete?

Traveling is truly an incredible opportunity I get to have the chance to experience. Having the chance to see so many different places and to ski as an Ikon Pass ambassador is something very special. I also love seeing how people celebrate skiing and winter sports around the world, it’s wonderful.
4

Have you every had a poutine, Beaver Tail or maple taffy?

I don’t think I ever tried poutine, but I have had a Beaver Tail before. Yes, I have had the maple on the stick, I think I actually have some back in my room right now. So maybe that’s a treat I would have!
5

Did you learn any French words?

Well, I studied French in high school – the classic phrase that everyone learns is: “Où est la toilette? » (laughs). It’s a beautiful language!
6

What was your most special moment this weekend?

Actually, I had so many special moments, but I think one of my favourite things is that my brother and sister-in-law were able to come and watch the races. So being here with my family is something really special for me.
