The first women’s World Cup race at Tremblant in 40 years, is officially a go! Following today’s snow control, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has given the green light for the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup Women’s Giant Slalom races at Tremblant December 2 and 3 2023.
“I am very proud of the Tremblant team and the volunteers who have worked tirelessly to prepare the course for the 2023 AUDI FIS Ski World Cup,” said Patrice Malo, President and Chief Operating Officer, Station Mont Tremblant. “In addition to over 7,000 tickets sold we have had a tremendous response from the community in terms of fans and volunteers and we are excited to welcome the world to Tremblant.”
“This is an important milestone in bringing a World Cup race to Tremblant for the first time in 40 years” said Therese Brisson, President & CEO of Alpine Canada. “It has been wonderful working with the local organizing committee and the team at Tremblant. We all share common goals of delivering a race event that excites Canadians, one that grows the sport and fans, delivers an amazing experience for athletes and fans, is commercially and environmentally sustainable, and provides a strong legacy for the sport and community.”
Canadians scheduled to race at Tremblant are Britt Richardson (Canmore, AB), Cassidy Gray (Panorama, BC), Sarah Bennett (Stoneham, QC) and Valérie Grenier (St. Isidore, ON) whose home hill is Tremblant. On top of bringing together the best women ski racers in the world, the Tremblant World Cup will provide fans with a range of activities and entertainment including free musical performances, and a festive atmosphere throughout the village.
