During the 2023 edition of the Tremblant World Cup, which featured two FIS women’s alpine skiing World Cups, our commitment to the environment was recognized. Classified as a Level 2 Eco-Responsible Event by the Quebec Council for Eco-Responsible Events, our event implemented several eco-friendly actions and practices. Here are some examples and results we would like to share with you.

Eco-Responsible Commitments and Actions

1

Waste Management Awareness

A Green Team was present to raise public awareness about waste management. Thanks to their efforts, spectators gained a better understanding of the importance of sorting and reducing waste.
2

Waste Reduction

Of the 1,591 kg of waste generated during the event, 69% was diverted from the landfill through recycling (49%) and composting (20%). This remarkable performance highlights the effectiveness of our waste management and the participants’ commitment.
3

Redistribution of Food Surpluses

All food surpluses were transformed and redistributed to our employees, thus preventing waste and supporting our internal community.
4

Equipment Optimization

Several pieces of equipment were strategically rented and shared with the 24H Tremblant event held the following week, reducing our environmental footprint. This collaborative approach minimized the resources used and the emissions generated.
5

GHG Emissions Compensation

A $2,500 check was given to Carbone Boréal to offset some of the GHG emissions generated by the organization. This gesture reflects our commitment to reducing our overall environmental impact.

We are already looking forward to seeing you next December at the Tremblant World Cup.
In the meantime, we hope these actions inspire each of you to adopt eco-friendly practices in your daily lives. Let’s continue to work together for a greener and more sustainable future.
Together, we can make a difference for our planet.
