The Mont Tremblant community is gearing up for another thrilling chapter as the Audi FIS Ski World Cup circuit returns to Quebec. In an insightful interview, Patrice Malo, CEO of Mont Tremblant Resort, shared his reflections on last year’s inaugural event and the team’s ambitions for this year’s competition.

How did the last edition go?

Our team mobilized quickly after we got approval to host the World Cup. The organization of the first edition was a great success. While there were some areas for improvement, the overall execution exceeded our expectations.

What was the greatest success?

To me, the event’s greatest success was the satisfaction of the athletes and the smooth movement of spectators around the venue. It was crucial to ensure the public could enjoy the event comfortably.

How did the community react to the event?

The local community welcomed the event with great enthusiasm. Hosting a World Cup is the pinnacle for ski resorts, and Tremblant’s involvement created a strong sense of pride among our residents.

What is the biggest challenge for the next edition?

The biggest challenge this year will be maintaining the level of excellence we achieved in the first edition. Last year’s success has set high expectations, and we have to make sure we are just as good, if not better, than before. We need to avoid complacency and continue improving.

What improvements are planned for the second edition?

We’re introducing a new giant screen that will let spectators follow the race from multiple angles. Additionally, we’re expanding the popular Adepte Zone to accommodate more fans and give them an even better experience.
